Keeping it simple, I enjoy an active lifestyle, getting outdoors as often as I can, new adventures and maintaining a high level of health where I can turn to the next challenge with confidence.
Having this approach allows me to be a coach first, athlete second. As much as it is important to make time for my own endeavors, the individuals I work with are priority. We all have our own aspirations, and being a part of the success, seeing the achievements from those completing their first Triathlon, or Ultra event, to those hitting podiums, all are the ‘why’ behind enjoyment for being a coach.
I am a Fully Certified British Triathlon Coach as well as a UESCA Certified Ultra Endurance Run Coach. These certifications built upon my degree in Applied Sports Science and Coaching. The applied nature of the course meant a lot of hours in the Science lab putting theory into practice. The understanding of Physiology, Psychology and Biomechanics combined has been invaluable and a big part of why I offer more than just the training program. I am continually maintaining my professional development and enjoy learning new concepts that could benefit the people I work with. Most recently, completing a course on 'Supporting Female Performance in Sport', an area which has been neglected for far too long, and is excellent to now see the education around it improving.
Rather than listing the events, distances and sports that I have competed in over recent years, get a call booked in so we can discuss those which relate and share experiences that could be useful in the direction you are headed :)
Whatever it is you enjoy doing, I would encourage you to make the time for it and invest in yourself.
